CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Sophomore Kiona Hsiu of No. 14 Trinity University Women's Golf was named All-West Region by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, and presented with the award at the site of the 2022 NCAA III Women's Golf National Championship in Houston Tuesday night.
The 2022 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference medalist led the Tigers to the program's first-ever NCAA III championship berth and the second repeat conference championship in program history, the sixth overall. Hsiu set a new two-round SCAC record of 148 (+4) at the Vaaler Creek Country Club to mark one of three tournament victories on the season.
Hsiu's medalist performance led to the second All-SCAC first-team honor of her career to go along with her 2021 SCAC Freshman of the Year award.
The anchor of the Trinity lineup has continued her performance into this week's NCAA III tournament, currently in a tie for fourth overall through two rounds of the event.
No. 14 Trinity Women's Golf looks to remain ahead of the cutoff line of the 2022 NCAA III Women's Golf National Championship this afternoon at the Bay Oaks Country Club. The Tiger lineup tees off at 12:30 p.m. CT, with Hsiu completing the order in the 1:10 p.m. CT.
