HOW IT HAPPENED

  • While it took nearly 80 minutes for Trinity to find the opening tally in a 1-0 regular season victory against Dallas back on October 17th in San Antonio, the Tigers struck early tonight when senior Cece Hendricks converted on her second penalty kick of the season at the 4:20 mark to grab a 1-0 lead. It was Hendricks’ second goal of the year, the first coming back on September 5th.
  • Trinity doubled its lead when Kaity Ward struck for her 16th of the season in the 35th minute. Ward took a pass from Isabel Makulski around the top of the 18-yard box turned and fired a shot into the right-side upper 90 part of the goal. It was Ward’s sixth goal in the last three games.
  • Dallas opened the second half taking two of the first three shots and attempted one of its two corners on the night in that period however, Trinity kept the Crusaders off the board to post its ninth shutout of the season.
  • Trinity outshot Dallas, 16-9, but held just a slight advantage in shots on goal, 6-4.
  • The Tigers also held a 5-2 advantage on corners and committed 11 fouls to the Crusaders’ seven.
