ANNA SCARBROCK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a first-year right-hander from Alexandria, La., has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 11 through Sunday, April 17. SCAC Softball Release - Week 11
Scarbrock picked up two wins, pitched one complete game (her fifth of the season), and did not allow an earned run in 10.1 innings of work as the Ladies took two of three games from Schreiner. She tossed a four-hit complete game in game two of a doubleheader on Friday, allowing just one unearned run and no walks with four strikeouts. She then came on in relief of starter Ashley Hunter on Saturday and pitched the final three innings, allowing just three hits while striking out one, as she faced 11 batters and threw 40 pitches (28 strikes) to lead Centenary to a 2-0 win on Senior Day.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior pitcher Lindsey Longuet of St. Thomas had a stellar weekend at the mound posting 0.00 era in two starts, allowing just seven hits and two unearned runs in 13.0 innings of work while striking out eight in the process. Sophomore pitcher Sydney Ouellette of Texas Lutheran was dominant in the circle against Dallas, tossing a complete game shutout on Friday only allowing two Crusaders hits and followed on Friday with a save on Saturday with a hitless seventh inning. First-year pitcher Taylor McKenzie of Southwestern dominated in her start against Austin College, striking out 10 with only four hits and two runs allowed. She surpassed 100 strikeouts this season, becoming the first Southwestern freshman to reach that mark since Lindsey Longuet in 2017. Senior pitcher Cat Patterson of Trinity pitched a five-hit shutout to get the 1-0 win in game one of the St. Thomas series. The senior posted an ERA of 3.00 this weekend.
