DREW BENNETT OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior from Bossier City, La., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, March 12 through Tuesday, March 18. It is the second consecutive week he has earned the honor. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 5)
Bennett claimed the individual title in the Gents’ annual home tournament, the Hal Sutton Invitational, on Tuesday to lead the Centenary men’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Rex Soulliere of Dallas led the Crusaders at the Texas Cup to a fourth-place finish after finishing eighth individually. Soulliere fired rounds of 80 (+9), 75 (+4) and 73 (+2) to card a three-round total of 228 (+15). He finished the tournament with eight total birdies. Sophomore Eli Brinton of McMurry led the War Hawks to a seventh-place finish at the Hal Sutton Invite this week. Brinton posted rounds of 75 (+3) and 81 (+9) to secure a 36-hole score of 156 (+12) to finish tied for 22nd. Brinton finished the event with six birdies, including four in his opening round.
