D'QAVION LEMONS OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a sophomore defensive lineman from Shreveport, La., has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 21. SCAC Football Release (Week 3)
Lemons had a stellar performance for the Gents in their 36-17 win at Austin College on Saturday night as he recorded a team-leading eight total tackles and had a team-best two sacks with a team-high two tackles for loss. Lemons also forced a fumble to lead a Gents' defense that recorded four sacks, had six tackles for loss, and forced four fumbles, recovering three.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior defensive back Dylon Davis of McMurry had three tackles and one pass breakup in the War Hawks' big 31-10 victory over Texas Lutheran. The junior came up with a loose ball and returned in 30 yards that stopped a TLU drive deep into McMurry territory. Senior linebacker Grayson Kowalski of Texas Lutheran recorded a career-high 10 tackles including a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss and blocked a field goal attempt in Saturday's 31-10 loss to McMurry.
