CODY CROWDER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior outfielder from Shepherd, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Sunday, March 15 through Sunday, March 21.
Crowder helped lead the Gents to a three-game road sweep of Austin College, batting .417 (5-for-12) in the three games with eight RBI, seven runs scored, four walks, and four stolen bases. He also had a pair of doubles to give him 53 for his career, which is the most in program history in the Division III era (2012-present)
Crowder is hitting .368 on the season and leads the SCAC in runs scored (25) and triples (3), walks (16) and total bases (44). He is second in doubles (7) and fourth in RBIs (19).
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior catcher Ross Lowe of Dallas tallied a hit and run in all five games for the Crusaders this past week. He batted .615 (8-13) in the three-game road series at Schreiner and helped UD win two of three games - claiming its first conference series win since 2015 at Schreiner. He also had a double, triple, four runs scored and four RBI in the conference-opening series. For the week, Lowe slashed .588/.636/.824 and scored the winning run in the team's 5-4 walk-off against Hardin-Simmons in non-conference play. Senior catcher Daniel Mongtomery Jr. of Southwestern had a monster three-game series against St. Thomas, hitting 4-for-9 with two home runs, four RBIs, and seven runs scored. He hit .444 in conference play with a 1.333 slugging percentage. For the week, he hit .308 with a .923 slugging percentage.
