KOBE CHAMBERS OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior receiver from Greenwood, Miss., has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, October 26. SCAC Football Release (Week 8)
Chambers had an impressive all-around performance for the Gents on Saturday in their 41-21 Homecoming win over Austin College as he returned three kickoffs for 140 yards for an average of 46.7 and a long of 67. He was also the Gents' second-leading receiver with five catches for 33 yards. Chambers leads the SCAC in kick return average at 23.5 yards per return and in all purpose yardage at 119.8 yards per game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior punter Cameron Welch of Texas Lutheran averaged 42.8 yards per punt, including a long of 54 yards, in the Bulldogs' 28-6 win over McMurry. Welch currently ranks third in NCAA Division III in punting. First-year kicker Jax Rodriguez of McMurry supplied all of the War Hawks' scoring on Saturday, converting of 2 of 3 field goal attempts, in the team's 28-6 loss to Texas Lutheran.
