SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Fourth-seeded Centenary College defeated third-seeded Southwestern University, 3-1, in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon at the 2023 SCAC Softball Championship. Jaeden Thrasher was 2-for-3 with a home run, run scored, and a walk while Kaylea Patridge was 2-for-3 with an RBI in leading the Ladies. HOW IT HAPPENED
- Thraser got the Ladies on the board in the top of the third with a solo home run that plated the game's first run. Two batters later a double to left field by Isabelle Dominguez scored Mallory Stout and put Centenary on top 2-0.
- Southwestern cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth as Riley Glenn-Millhouse's RBI fielder's choice closed the gap.
- Centenary added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on a sac fly from Patridge.
