PRESTON LUDWICK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior first baseman from Pflugerville, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Sunday, February 7 through Sunday, February 14.
Ludwick hit .429 overall in a pair of Centenary wins to open the season last week. The Gents defeated Louisiana College, 6-1, on Tuesday as Ludwick went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and then in a 7-4 victory over ETBU on Friday, he went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a pair of walks. He delivered a clutch two-out single in the bottom of the seventh on Friday with the Gents clinging to a one-run lead to help put the game away.
In total, Ludwick went 3-for-7 at the plate with four runs driven in, a run scored and a pair of walks.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior first baseman Zachary Taylor of Dallas went 3-for-7 (.429) with two RBI and two runs scored as the Crusaders dropped a doubleheader to Sul Ross State over the weekend.
