SUWANEE, Ga. – Centenary College first-year forward Shyanne Phillips was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of January 12th, it was announced Tuesday by D3hoops.com.
Phillips, a native of Leesville, La., exploded for a career-high 26 points to lead all scorers in the Ladies' 74-61 win over Dallas at home and added a game-high and league-leading 19 rebounds. She was 11-17 from the floor and 4-4 at the free-throw line in 30 minutes with a blocked shot and a steal.
On the season, Phillips leads the Ladies in both points per game (12.8) and rebounds per game (11.8) and is currently third in the SCAC in RPG.
The Team of the Week is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 28th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Phillips is the third SCAC women’s student athlete to earn D3hoops.com National TOTW recognition, joining Trinity’s Kylie Minter and Colorado College’s Zoë Tomlinson. This is Phillips’ first National TOTW honor.
