Fleming was outstanding in keeping the Crusaders hopes alive for postseason play, leading UD to a pair of road wins over McMurry and Concordia. Fleming averaged an impressive 25.5 points on a blazing 56.3 percent shooting. In addition to his scoring prowess, Fleming dished out 3.0 assists, grabbed 2.5 rebounds and grabbed 1.5 steals per game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Jackson Rennie of Austin College had a huge weekend to help the 'Roos go 1-1, including picking up a big road victory at McMurry. Rennie averaged 26.0 points while shooting 54.3 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from long range, knocking down 14-of-26 triples in two contests. Rennie scored 24 against Concordia and followed that up with 28, including eight made threes, in the win over the Warhawks. Rennie has scored at least 20 points in five of his last seven games. Senior forward Devin Philio of Colorado College led the Tigers to a 2-0 weekend on the road against Centenary and Ozarks. Philio finished the weekend averaging 12.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.0 blocks per game. He had great performance on Sunday for CC to clinch a spot in the SCAC Tournament with 16 points, nine boards, and a career-high four blocks. Senior forward TJ Hilliard of McMurry averaged 16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game to showcase his all-around game and lead the War Hawks in a pair of SCAC contest at home last weekend. Graduate student guard Beau Cervantes of Schreiner lifted the Mountaineers to a pair of key SCAC wins at home last weekend. Cervantes averaged 19.5 points on 41.7 percent shooting, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game while committing just one turnover in the two contests. First-year Jared Robins of Southwestern forward averaged a double-double last week to lead the Pirates with 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Robins also added one block per game as well. Senior forward Andrew Adebo of St. Thomas averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, highlighted by a 20-point, eight rebound performance in the Celts 10-point win over Centenary on Sunday. First-year guard Jonah Johnson of Texas Lutheran poured in a career-high 26 points and grabbed three rebounds in the Bulldogs loss at Schreiner on Sunday. Senior guard Jacob Harvey of Trinity averaged 17.5 points per game in just 26.0 minutes per game as the Tigers secured a pair of wins last weekend, beating TLU on Friday and Southwestern on Saturday. He opened the weekend with his best game, scoring 21 points and going 6-of-9 from three-point range. Overall, he shot 43.5 percent (10-for-23) from the field and 47.6 percent (10-for-21) from three-point range across the two games.
