KIMBERLY BURCH OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior from Dublin, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, September 6 through Tuesday, September 12. SCAC Golf Release (Week 1) 

Burch made program history Tuesday afternoon, capturing medalist honors at the Tempest Intercollegiate to lead the Crusaders to a second-place team finish. Trailing by one shot heading into the final round, Burch posted the second lowest score of the afternoon to come from behind and claim the first individual title in Dallas women’s golf history. She fired rounds of 75 and 80 for a two-day total of 155, 11 shots above par to secure the individual crown.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Marlo Zamora of Trinity opened her collegiate career by pacing the Tigers to a tied for second-place finish at the Lady Bulldog Classic after firing back-to-back rounds of 72 for a two-day total of 144 and a runner-up finish. She finished just three shots behind the champion. Sophomore Sloane Panter of Southwestern paced the Pirates at the TLU Lady Bulldog Classic, finishing tied for third with a two-round total of 146 (+4). Her final round 69 was the lowest score posted on Tuesday and vaulted her into the top five and lifted the Pirates to a tie for second-place finish. Senior Juliana Hundman of St. Thomas led the Celts to a fourth-place finish at the TLU Lady Bulldogs Classic after finishing tied for third individually with a two-round total of 146 (+4). Following the opening round, Hundman was tied for sixth and her second round 71 vaulted her into the top three. Sophomore Emmie Rhude of Schreiner opened her 2023-24 season finishing tied for sixth at the TLU Lady Bulldogs Classic after firing a two-day total of 147, highlighted by a closing round of 72. Junior Braydee Frederick of Texas Lutheran finished tied for 36th in the Bulldogs own Lady Bulldog Invitational. Frederick finished 28-shots over par highlighted by an opening round 82, tied for the lowest round of any Bulldog during the tournament. First-year Mya Thompson of Centenary opened her collegiate career finishing tied for 43rd at the TLU Lady Bulldog Invitational after firing a two-day total of 176.
