KIMBERLY BURCH OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior from Dublin, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, September 27 through Tuesday, October 3. SCAC Golf Release (Week 3)
Burch finished ninth in the 61-player field at The Legends Cup, which was played at the 5727-yard, par 72 Legends Golf Club in Kingsland, Texas. Burch was the top finishing SCAC golfer at the event, firing rounds of 78 and 77 to finish at 155 (+11) and nine shots off the medalist Izzy Crow of the host school Mary Hardin-Baylor. Burch finished with four birdies and 23 pars over her two rounds - totals good for tied for seventh and tied for sixth, respectively.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Emmie Rhude of Schreiner finished tied for 10th at The Legends Cup, leading the Mountaineers with rounds of 75 and 81 for a two-day total of 156 (+12). Junior Braydee Frederick of Texas Lutheran paced the Bulldogs on day two at The Legends Cup with an 8-over 72 in the final round Tuesday. She finished the tournament at 21-over to tie for 30th. First-year Mya Thompson of Centenary posted her lowest round of the season on Monday, opening with an 84, before finishing with a 92 and a two-day total of 176 (+32) to finish 46th at The Legends Cup.
