REX SOULLIERE OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior from Omaha, Neb., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 8. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Soulliere finished as tournament runnerup at the Trinity University Alamo City Classic, posting a three round score of 212 (71-70-71) to finish one under par, just one of two golfers in the 48-player field to finish the tournament under par. He was the Crusaders' low scorer, leading UD to a third place team finish among the 'A' squad entrants.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Jacob Mason of Trinity, along with his teammate first-year Connor Hess, finished at level par 211 and tied for third at the Alamo City Classic. Mason opened with a 69-73 day, then shot even-par 71 on Tuesday to finish at even par while Hess shot 71-67 on day one, then finished with a 75 for the final round. Sophomore Antonio Ramirez of St. Thomas posted a top 10 finish at the Alamo City Classic, firing three straight rounds of 73 to finish at 219 (+6) to place eighth. Sophomore Parker Smith of Concordia (Texas) earned a 15th-place finish to lead the Tornados at the Rockwind Community Links Golf Course at the University of the Southwest Fall Invitational. He shot rounds of 74-76-71 to finish at 221 (+8). First-year Brandon Munson of Texas Lutheran finished tied for 11th with a final tally of 221 (+8) over 54 holes to lead the Bulldogs at the Alamo City Classic. Sophomore Eli Brinton of McMurry finished 17th at University of the Southwest Fall Invitational, going 73-73-76 for 222 (+9). He had birdies on holes three, eight and 11 on Tuesday to bring his total to eight for the tournament.
