MADI MEDUNA OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior from Waterloo, Neb., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Sunday, October 27 through Tuesday, October 29. SCAC Golf Release (Week 7)
Meduna was the team's top finisher at the UD Crusader Cup, tying for sixth in the 42-player tournament field which was played Monday and Tuesday and contested at the Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas. The senior carded rounds of 85 and 80 to finish at 165 (+21) - tops among all SCAC golfers at the event - and her 18 pars tied for fourth-best among the participants.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Rebecca Mitchell of Schreiner finished with a final round 80 on Tuesday to move 12 places up the leaderboard and place eighth with a two-day total of 171 at the UD Crusader Cup. First-year Belle Asbury of Texas Lutheran paced the Bulldogs on day two at the UD Crusader Cup, matching her opening round score of 86 (+14) in the final round Tuesday, and finished the tournament in a tie for ninth place (+28) for her third consecutive top ten finish. First-year Haylee Crowder of Centenary led the way for the Ladies as she shot a 35-over par 179 (89-90) to tie for 19th place at the UD Crusader Cup. The rookie was in a tie for 17th place after her 17-over par 89 on Monday and followed with an 18-over par 90 in the final round. First-year Raelynn Leifeste of McMurry led the War Hawks at the UD Crusader Cup, tying for 23rd place on the individual leaderboard after rounds of 96 and 87 left her with a two-day total of 183.
