ANNA WILGENBUSCH OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a junior from St. Paul, Minn., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Monday, September 20 through Sunday, September 26. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 4)

Competing in her hometown meet - the University of Minnesota/Roy Griak Invitational which is one of the more prestigious meets in the nation, Wilgenbusch placed 45th out of 327 finishers - fourth among DIII finishers - with a time of 23:51. Most of the field were top-ranked NCAA DII programs in a very strong Midwest region for collegiate cross country.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Sophia Sanchez of St. Thomas led the Celts to a fifth-place finish while placing 15th overall (second among D3 competitors) at the Concordia (Texas) Classic. She ran a 24:33.2 time with a 6:35 pace. First-year Kristin Lucero of Texas Lutheran had an impressive race at the Concordia (Texas) Classic, finishing fourth amongst Division-III runners in a field flooded by University of Texas runners. With a personal best of 24:47.8, Lucero moved onto TLU's all-time 6K record board.
