LETRELL TOUSSAINT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior forward from Waco, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 6 through Sunday, December 12. SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 6)

Toussaint posted his second double-double in the last three games, pouring in 16 points and grabbing 14 rebounds to lead the Crusaders to an 81-76 home SCAC victory over Centenary last Wednesday. It marked the first time since the 2017-18 season that Dallas has opened the conference portion of the schedule with a victory. Toussaint connected on a season-high 71.4 percent from the field (5-of-7), including 75.0 percent from the free throw line (6-of-8). In addition to his game-high 14 rebounds, Toussaint also added two assists, two steals and two blocks .

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Roman Strickland of Austin College stuffed the stat sheet in the ‘Roos’ lone game last week, a 95-71 win over Howard Payne. Strickland hit 3-of-5 threes on his way to 17 points, adding 14 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in the victory.  Senior forward Jarrell Taylor of Centenary scored a team-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in the Gent’s 81-76 road SCAC loss to Dallas last Wednesday. Taylor connected on 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Senior guard Scott Cunningham of Colorado College averaged 19 points on44.8 percent shooting last week, including a career-high 24 points in a loss to No. 15 Whitworth last Sunday. Senior guard Alex Dehoyos of Schreiner scored 13 points, forced five steals, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out two assists in the Mountaineers three-point road loss to TLU last week. Senior guard Christian Alaekwe of St. Thomas led the Celts with 19 points, 17 coming in the first half, in an SCAC opening victory over Colorado College, 75-50. Alaekwe connected on 4-of-7 from three-point range, forced five steals and grabbed four rebounds in the win. Sophomore guard Xavier Phillips of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 65-62 SCAC victory over Schreiner last week, registering 20 points and grabbing six rebounds.
