Trinity loses to Carnegie Mellon in Semifinals of ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships

GREENCASTLE, Ind.
- The 11th-ranked Trinity University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Carnegie Mellon in semifinal round play at the 2013 ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships Saturday on the campus of DePauw University. Match Results | Bracket | Official Website

Trinity fell to 3-6 on the season, while Carnegie Mellon is now 5-1. The Tigers trailed 2-1 after doubles, as Kristy Hamilton and Stephanie Williamson won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.

The Tigers fell in all six singles sets, though, as Carnegie Mellon reached the championships, which are held tomorrow.

Kylie Hornbeck won her first set 6-4 at No. 3 singles, but then lost 3-6, 2-6 in the closest match of the night.  

Trinity will face top seed University of Chicago in tomorrow's Third Place match, after Chicago was upset by Johns Hopkins today. The match begins at 10:00 a.m. (EST) at DePauw University.
