SCAC Places Two on D3football.com All-South Region Teams

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year Mason Lytal and teammate Tomy Boby (pictured) were named to the D3football.com All-South Region teams, the website announced today.

Lytal was named to the All-South Second Team at tight end. A 6-3, 221-pound senior tight end, Lytal finished with a league-leading 587 yards receiving on 30 catches for 11 touchdowns – the eighth-most receiving TDs in a single season in SCAC history. He scored a TD in seven of his team's 10 games, including a SCAC single-game record four (tied with two others) in Trinity's season-opening victory over Howard Payne.

A two-time conference Offensive Player-of-the-Week selection during the 2012 season, Lytal is the first SCAC Offensive POTY honoree for Trinity since the 2005 season and the eighth overall. He is also the first tight end to ever win the league's highest offensive honor.

Boboy, a 6-0, 200-pound sophomore defensive lineman, was a Third Team All-South selection at defensive end. He was a First Team All-SCAC performer. The Hurst, Texas native tallied 45 tackles (29 solo), while racking up a league-high 10 sacks during the season.

He also led the SCAC with 16.5 tackles for loss (1.65 per game). Boboy also added two passes defended and intercepted one pass during his second year with the Tigers. Boboy was a three time selection as SCAC Defenisve Player-of-the-Week during the 2012 season.
