SOMERS, Wis. - The Trinity University women's swimming & diving team, on the heals of its win in the Tiger Invitational, jumped 13 spots and is ranked 11th by CollegeSwimming.com in the latest national rankings.
Trinity scored 1,135 points to win the women's meet, which featured a total of eight teams. The Tiger men finished second with 668.5 points in a seven-team field. University of Texas-Permian Basin won the men's meet with 969 points. The Tigers did finish first among Division III schools, beating third place Southwestern by nearly 100 points.
Lydia Jones led the women's team with two individual wins and two relay wins on Saturday, adding to her relay win on Friday. Jones swept both the 100 and 200 freestyle races, then swam leadoff in the 400 free relay, and anchored the 200 medley relay.
Also winning five total events was Kara Beauchamp, who scored three of those victories in today's action. Beauchamp swam the third leg of the 400 free relay, as well as winning both the 400 individual medley and the 200 butterfly. She also won the 200 IM and was part of the winning 400 medley relay team on day one.
