SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity University, the 2013 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) men's basketball champions, open up the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship with a first round game at home against Concordia University (Texas) on Saturday, March 2. Trinity head coach Pat Cunninham took time to speak with SCAC Assistant Commissioner Jeff DeBaldo to preview the Tigers' NCAA tournament matchup with Concordia (Texas).

The Tigers earned the SCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament thanks to its 60-55 overtime win over Colorado College in the 2013 SCAC Championship game last weekend. Trinity makes its second consecutive appearance in the national tournament and the program's ninth all-time. 

Trinity hosts Concordia (Texas) in the first round of the tournament on Saturday, March 2 at 7 p.m. CST. The Tigers (20-7), coming off their second straight SCAC title and the program's seventh overall, enter NCAA play with a four game winning streak and have won eight of their past 10 games entering postseason play.

The Tornados are in the NCAA postseason for the first time in program history after defeating Mary Hardin-Baylor, 80-76, in the American Southwest Conference championship game. The win gave Concordia (Texas) (23-5) the ASC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The Trinity/Concordia (Texas) winner will advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament where they will square off against host Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, March 9. The Cru received a first round bye.
