DeBaldo resigns as SCAC Assistant Commissioner

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – In an announcement made today by the conference office, Jeff DeBaldo has resigned as the Assistant Commissioner of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The resignation is effective June 30.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., DeBaldo and his wife Ashley have decided to pursue career opportunities closer to home.

“As the SCAC enters a new era with the approaching additions of Schreiner University and Texas Lutheran University, the timing felt right for me to enter a new era as well,” said DeBaldo. “This is truly a bittersweet moment for me. However, the opportunity to move back closer to family and friends was something that my wife and I could not pass up.”

“I want to thank the SCAC Presidents’ Council, Athletic Director’s Council and Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry for the opportunity to work for and represent the SCAC for the past five years. It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve this great conference and its membership and I know great things are in store for the league. The SCAC will always hold a cherished place in my heart and I wish all of our student-athletes, coaches and administrators nothing but the best as I make this transition.”

DeBaldo, who also served as the SCAC’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor, has been the Assistant Commissioner of the SCAC since 2008.

“Jeff did tremendous work for the SCAC these past five years,” said SCAC commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. “His loyalty and his unwavering efforts to promote the member institutions and student-athletes of this conference will be missed. I wish him and his wife Ashley well as they move forward with this new chapter in their lives.”
