Trinity Third; Colorado College 22nd in NSCAA/Continental Tire Top 25 men's poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Trinity (Texas) University fell to No. 3 in the  National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III top 25 poll for week eight while Colorado College retained the 22nd ranking this week.

In their highly anticpated rematch on Oct. 19, Trinity and Colorado College did not disappoint as the Texas Tigers and Colorado Tigers posted a 1-1 draw. Colorado College struck first on a goal in the 20th minute while Trinity evened the match with a goal in the 58th minute.

Trinity finished the weekend with a 1-0 win over Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foe University of Dallas.

Colorado College stayed steady at No. 22 in this week's poll thanks to its 1-1 draw with then No. 1 Trinity. The Tigers then finished the weekend with a 4-0 win over SCAC rival Southwestern University.

In the D3soccer.com top 25 poll, Trinity fell one spot to No. 2. The Tigers had been the top ranked team for four consecutive weeks. Colorado College rejoined the top-25 for the first time since Oct. 2 where they checkec in at No. 24.

Trinity and Colorado College are a combined 16-1-3 in their last 20 matches.

Trinity improved to 15-0-1 and 8-0-1 in SCAC play on the season, while wrapping up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming SCAC tournament. The Tigers return to action on Oct. 26 when they host UC-Santa Cruz.

The Colorado College Tigers are now 12-3-2 overall and 5-1-2 in SCAC competition. Colorado College returns to action on Oct. 26 and 28 when they travel to Centenary College and Austin College, respectively.
