SAN ANTONIO, Texas –
Former Trinity University men’s tennis All-American Jeff Mueller has been selected as a 2012 Pat Tillman Military Scholar.

Mueller, who is currently in graduate school at Columbia (NY) University, was one of 59 recipients of the 2012 scholarship, which is the fourth class of Tillman Scholars and supports active and veteran servicemembers and their spouses.

The Pat Tillman Foundation has invested over $3.2 million to more than 200 scholars since the program’s inception.

Mueller was a key member of Trinity’s 2000 NCAA Division III Championship team, which along with the women’s team that season, was the first Division III Champion in school history.  Mueller was selected as an All-American, as well as being chosen as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year in 1999.

As a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, Mueller was twice deployed during nine years of active service – once to Japan, and as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq.  He has flown numerous missions in F/A-18s, and continues to serve as a Marine reservist.

Mueller is a San Antonio native who attended MacArthur High School.
