Southwestern Women's Golf Tied for Seventh After Second Round of NCAA Championship

DESTIN, Fla. - The Southwestern University women's golf team is tied for seventh after the second round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship after the Pirates carded a +38 team score on day two of the tournament. Official Site | Results 

The Pirates were again led by senior Kelsey Coburn who turned in a team best 78 (+6), slightly better than teammate Bernice Leonard's and Karissa Speck's 79 (+7). Kelsey Coburn was also honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association as she was named to the 2013 WGCA All-West Region team.

Kelsey Coburn's +10 overall marks is good for a tie for eight (up one spot from round one) with two other players and is just 10 shots off the lead of Texas-Tyler's Laura Lindsey, who maintained her first round lead.

Also scoring for Southwestern on day one was Lauren Boone (90, +18). Keeley Coburn's 92 was not counted.

Mary Hardin-Baylor  and Texas-Tyler are tied for the lead after two rounds as the Cru and Patriots each are at +41 for the tournament. Rounding out the top five are George Fox (+47), Methodist (+55) and Williams (+58).
