Cross Country - Week 2 
The 2024 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country season continued last week, highlighted by both Colorado College and Centenary kicked off their seasons respectively at the UCCS Rust Buster and the Mississippi College Opener. The SCAC Cross Country season returns to action this week with eight programs competing, including Concordia, McMurry, Southwestern and Texas Lutheran all traveling to the Southwestern Showdown. Men's Runner of the Week - Will Shuflit, Colorado College
Will Shuflit of Colorado College, sophomore from Park City, Utah, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7.  Full Release  

Women's Runner of the Week - Alison Mueller-Hickler, Colorado College
Alison Mueller-Hickler of Colorado College, a junior from Katy, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7.  Full Release  


Football - Week 1
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference returned to the gridiron for the first time since 2016 last weekend as all five teams were in action. Lyon (1-0) won its third consecutive opener, defeating Grinnell College, 48-28, while Texas Lutheran (1-0) picked up a win over a ranked team for the first time since 2019 after knocking off 13th-ranked Trinity, 35-20 on the road. Conference play opens up this weekend as Centenary (0-1) travels to TLU and McMurry (0-1) hosts Lyon. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATISTICS

Troy Tomaselli of Texas Lutheran University, a senior defensive back from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 7. Full Release 

Special Teams Player of the Week - Tristan Smith, Texas Lutheran University
Tristan Smith of Texas Lutheran University, a junior linebacker from New Braunfels, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, September 7. Full Release 


Men's Soccer - Week 2
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer continued last week, highlighted by Colorado College (4-0-0), St. Thomas (2-0-0), Southwestern (3-0-1), Texas Lutheran (3-0-1), Trinity (2-0-2) and Concordia (TX) (1-0-2) remaining undefeated. The CC Tigers are perfect through four contests for the first time since 1995, while St. Thomas has jumped out to a 2-0 start for the fourth-straight season. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATSISTICS

Offensive Player of the Week - Theo Givens, Concordia University (Texas)
Theo Givens of Concordia University (Texas), a graduate student forward from Austin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, September 3rd through Sunday, September 8th. Full Release

Women's Soccer - Week 2
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer continued last week as Austin College (4-0-1), Ozarks (1-0-1) and Trinity (1-0-2) remained undefeated. The ‘Roos are off to their best start since 2010, the Eagles are unbeaten through two fixtures for the second-straight season and the Tigers are unblemished through three contests for the fifth time in the last six years. Offensive Player of the Week - Rylie Balderas, Austin College
Rylie Balderas of Austin College, a first year midfielder from Rockwall, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, September 3rd through Monday, September 8th. Full Release  

Defensive Player of the Week - Melanie Glossup, University of the Ozarks
Melanie Glossup of University of the Ozarks, a senior goalkeeper from Allen, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, September 3rd through Monday, September 8th. Full Release 


Volleyball - Week 2
The second week of the 2024 SCAC Volleyball season is in the books as all 11 teams were in action, highlighted by Southwestern rattling off four more wins to improve to 7-0 and remain the lone unbeaten team in the league.
