LeTourneau Track & Field to Compete in SCAC in Spring 2025

LONGVIEW, Texas – LeTourneau University and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) have agreed to an affiliate membership for the YellowJacket men’s and women’s track and field programs to compete in the conference for the Spring 2025 season.

LeTourneau will immediately be eligible for conference titles and awards in the sports of men’s and women’s track and field.

“We are thrilled to have a home for our men’s and women’s track and field program this spring,” said LeTourneau University vice president for athletics Dr. Tim Sceggel. “The SCAC has extended kindness to us in this situation, of which we are deeply appreciative. This relationship has us excited as we move into full membership in the SCAC in all sports in the fall 2025.”

"It was an easy decision to offer a championship experience to LeTourneau track and field student-athletes," said SCAC Commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. "Our current membership was very supportive of the idea and it will be a nice way to begin what we hope will be a long and fruitful relationship with the institution as LeTourneau comes aboard as a core member the following fall."

LeTourneau will become full members of the SCAC on July 1, 2025.

Current SCAC members with track and field include: Centenary College of Louisiana, Colorado College, Concordia University (Texas), University of Dallas, McMurry University, University of the Ozarks, Schreiner University, Southwestern University, University of St. Thomas, Texas Lutheran University and Trinity University.

The 2025 SCAC Track & Field Championships will be held on April 25-27 in Seguin, Texas, and will be hosted by Texas Lutheran.
