Trinity Women Race Out to Day One Lead at SCAC Swimming & Diving Championship

GARLAND, Texas -- The Trinity University women turned in impressive performances in both relay events to begin Day One of the 2025 SCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship at the Garland ISD Natatorium on Wednesday night. Official Website | Wednesday's Complete Results | Photo Gallery | Video Interviews Playlist

 The Tigers added to their consecutive win record run in the 200-yard medley relay, earning the program's fifth straight victory in the event. The team of Audrey Jacobson, Neely Burns, Allison Ortiz and Amy Benson touched the wall in a meet record time of 1:44.02 - the fourth straight year Trinity has broken its SCAC championship mark. The time was also good for an NCAA 'B' cut. Colorado College finished second in a time of 1:46.81 while Southwestern University was third with a finish of 1:49.67. 200-Yard Medley Relay Interview

Trinity continued its dominance of the 800-yard freeestyle relay, earning gold in the event for the ninth straight year - the longest streak of consecutive wins in any relay (men's or women's) in conference history. The quartet of Neely Burns, Audrey Jacobson, Julia Carter and Amy Benson finished atop the podium with a winning time of 7:31.18 - good for the second-fastest time in meet history and an NCAA 'B' cut. Southwestern University finished in second in 7:50.69 and McMurry University earned bronze in a time of 8:23.57. 800-Yard Freestyle Relay
