Cross Country - Week 3 
Last week eight SCAC squads were in action. On the men’s side, highlights included Southwestern claiming first place in their home showdown for the second consecutive season, Trinity finishing third at the UIW Invitational and Dallas securing third at its home Invitational. McMurry and Dallas secured runner-up finishes at the Southwestern Showcase and Dallas Invite respectively, while Trinity took fifth at the UIW Invitational to highlight the SCAC women’s squads. Men's Runner of the Week - Miguel Hernandez, Texas Lutheran University
Miguel Hernandez of Texas Lutheran University, a first-year runner from Luling, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14.  Full Release  

Women's Runner of the Week - Breanna Steele, Southwestern University

Football - Week 2
The conference portion of the SCAC Football schedule got underway last week as Texas Lutheran (2-0, 1-0) defeated Centenary (0-2, 0-1) in the Bulldogs home opener and McMurry (1-1, 1-0) knocked off Lyon (1-1, 0-1) in Abilene. Conference action continues this week, highlighted by Austin College (0-2, 0-0) hosts Centenary to open up league play for the ‘Roos. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATISTICS

Tim Leatherman of McMurry University, a senior defensive back from Ingram, Texas, has been named the SCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week for games played Saturday, September 14. Full Release 

Special Teams Player of the Week - Cameron Welch, Texas Lutheran University
Cameron Welch of Texas Lutheran University, a senior punter from New Braunfels, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, September 14. Full Release 


Golf - Week 1
The fall portion of the 2024-25 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference golf schedule is officially underway, highlighted by a majority of league squads participating in the SCAC Fall Preview this week. On the men’s side, Trinity secured a 13-shot victory over Southwestern led by individual medalist Jacob Mason. Southwestern took home top honors on the women’s side, defeating St. Thomas by one-stroke, after Ryleigh Erickson pulled away from the field to win the individual title by 11 shots. MEN'S SCHEDULE - WOMEN'S SCHEDULE

Men's Golfer of the Week - Jacob Mason, Trinity University
Jacob Mason of Trinity University, a senior from Westminster, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, September 9 through Tuesday, September 17.  Full Release  

Women's Golfer of the Week - Ryleigh Erickson, Southwestern University
Ryleigh Erickson of Southwestern University, a graduate student from McAllen, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Monday, September 9 through Tuesday, September 17.  Full Release  


Men's Soccer - Week 3
The final preparation for conference action continues this week, highlighted by a remarkable nine teams with a .500 or better winning percentage, including six squads still unbeaten on the year. St. Thomas (3-0-0), Colorado College (5-0-1), Southwestern (4-0-1), Texas Lutheran (4-0-1), Trinity (4-0-2) and Concordia (2-0-3) remain unblemished going into the final weekend of non-conference action. The SCAC is currently riding a six-year streak with five or more teams finishing the season with a .500 or better record. STANDINGS - SCHEDULE - STATSISTICS

Offensive Player of the Week - Louis Catchpole, Austin College
Louis Catchpole of Austin College, a senior forward from Kent, England, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, September 9th through Sunday, September 15th. Full Release

Cameron Smith of Trinity University, a sophomore defender from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, September 9th through Sunday, September 15th. Full Release  


Women's Soccer - Week 3
The third week of the 2024 SCAC Women’s Soccer season is in the books as all 10 of the 11 squads were in action last week. Austin College, which earned its fifth and sixth clean sheets of the season, continues to pace the league with an unbeaten 5-0-2 record after posting a 1-0-1 record last week with a win over Wiley (2-0) and a scoreless draw against Hendrix. Trinity, which secured wins over Texas-Dallas (1-0) and Howard Payne (7-0) joins the ‘Roos as the only other unbeaten team heading into the final weekend of non-conference action. Offensive Player of the Week - Klarissa Martinez, Texas Lutheran University
Klarissa Martinez of Texas Lutheran University, a junior midfielder from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, September 9th through Sunday, September 15th. Full Release

Volleyball - Week 3
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball continued last week as Southwestern (9-1), Texas Lutheran (6-4) and Schreiner (4-3) sit atop the league in terms of winning percentage in non-conference action. The Pirates have won nine of their first 10 matches for the fifth time since the start of the 2015 season, the Bulldogs are .600 or better through their opening 10 matches for the fourth-straight year and the Mountaineers have secured wins in four of their first seven matches for the second time in the last three years.
