CHLOE WEATHERS OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, a junior on the women's cross country and swimming & diving teams from Clarksville, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning September 30.
The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.
Weathers, who earlier this week earned SCAC Runner of the Week honors, has made an impact in the classroom, in the pool, on the cross country course and on the track all with a servant attitude. While Weathers has a long list of academic and athletic achievements, she still finds time to serve in the community with her teammates. Inspired by her parents, Weathers has made it a priority to give back to the community in which she grew up. She has helped at local high school cross country races as well as city-wide race events. She has helped at an Adoption Carnival, and on campus she is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Ozarks Student Education Association. Unassuming by nature, Weathers has a burning competitiveness that has earned her respect and admiration by her fellow student-athletes and campus community. The multi-sport athlete has won a variety of athletic awards and holds numerous cross country, track and swim records at Ozarks. She was named the 2023-2024 University’s Female Athlete of the Year.
This season has been even more special because she can compete with her younger sister, Macy, a freshman on the cross country and swim team.
A perfect 4.0 student, Weathers is majoring in Elementary Education and plans to become a teacher and coach.
