CHLOE WEATHERS OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, a junior from Clarksville, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28. SCAC Cross Country Release (Week 5)
Weathers finished 18th out of 188 runners at 19:41.8 at Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, and helped the women's team finish ninth out of 23 teams. Weathers' was the top SCAC runner at the race.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Samantha Hernandez of St. Thomas competed in Chile Pepper XC Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., and finished with a time of 20:26. First-year Allison Leonesio of Dallas has been progressing steadily throughout the season getting a PR in the 5k with a time of 22:38.3 at the Nicholls State XC Invitational. First-year Ashley Ramirez of Concordia (Texas) posted a time of 27:07.1 in the 5k Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., shattering her previous personal best time by over three minutes.
