WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Centre College women's
soccer team lost 1-0 to Denison University in the first round of
the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 15, in
Westerville, Ohio. The Colonels finished the year with a record of
12-6-1 and were second in the SCAC with a 7-2 conference record. Box Score
On a day were the Centre offense could not find its stride the
Colonels managed only 2 shots on goal and lost to Denison 1-0.
Denison scored the only goal of the game in the first half of
play.
It what is a heartbreaking loss for the Colonels let it not be
forgotten that this NCAA appearance is an amazing accomplishment
not only the team's seniors but also the women's soccer program.
The Colonels played at a high level all during the 2008 season
which led to a second place finish in the SCAC and a NCAA
tournament appearance.
