SCAC places three on All-South Region Men's Team

SCAC places three on All-South Region Men's Team

STERLING, Va. - Led by first-team selections senior Mike Moore (DePauw) and sophomore Todd Ward (Oglethorpe), the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference placed three student-athletes on the 2009 D3hoops.com All-South Region team.

Also named to the all-region team was Centre junior Danny Noll, as he was named to the third-team.

Moore, the SCAC Player of the Year, who in December became the SCAC's all-time assists leader, averaged 20.2 points per game (2nd in the SCAC), shot 42.5 percent from the floor (10th in the SCAC), and averaged 3.3 assists per game (8th in the SCAC) in 2008-09. This marked Moore's second selection to the all-region team as he garnered first-team honors in 2007-08.

Ward was third in the SCAC in scoring (17.0 ppg) and first in rebounding (10 rpg). He also was second in the league in field goal percentage (55.7) during 2008-09. He was honored with his first selection the all-region team.

Noll, who was named the 2009 SCAC Basketball Tournament MVP, ranked in the top 5 in the league in several categories in 2008-09 including scoring (4th - 16 ppg), field goal percentage (5th - 51.5 percent) and three-point field goal percentage (1st - 43.7 percent). Noll also picked up his first all-region selection this season.
