ATLANTA, Ga. - Senior Mason Mosby collected his 200th career hit with a solo homerun to left field in a 7-1 victory over Oglethorpe University yesterday. Mosby became the 22nd player in SCAC history to reach this milestone since the SCAC started in 1992. Mosby currently ranks 4th in Rhodes history for career hits trailing Richard Hurd (244), Daniel Vanaman (241), and current Rhodes senior J.R. Bizzell (223).

Mosby has been a mainstay for the Lynx over the past two and a half years after platooning as a freshman. Mosby collected 18 hits as a freshman, 73 as a sophomore, 52 as a junior, and currently has 58 in his senior campaign, giving him a total of 201 career hits. Since becoming an everyday player as a sophomore, Mosby has started in 121 of a possible 122 games and played in all 122. Mosby has also played in 124 consecutive games.

During this weekend's series with Oglethorpe Mosby also tied or broke four Rhodes offensive records. Mosby tied the record for career homeruns (15) with Daniel Vanaman (2005-2008) and now has the record for single season homeruns with 8, overtaking the previous mark of 6 set by Richard Hurd in 2007. Mosby also tied the school record for career triples (16) with Scott Franklin (1992-1994). Mosby is now the school record holder for stolen bases in a career with 72, bypassing Brian Vandegrift's (1992-1994) previous record of 69.

Mosby was selected 1st Team All-SCAC in 2007, Honorable Mention All-SCAC in 2008 and 2nd Team All-South Region in 2007. Mosby is a business and economics major who is planning on attending the masters program for accounting at Rhodes upon graduation in May.
