Southwestern, Trinity Women's Soccer Earn NSCAA Ethics and Sportsmanship Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Southwestern University and Trinity University women’s soccer teams were recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as recipients of the organization’s College Team Ethics and Sportmanship Award. Full release

The award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

Overall, 125 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the award.

Both Trinity and Southwestern earned the Silver award, meaning that the teams recorded no red cards on the season, and no more than five yellow cards.

The criteria for the award are as follows:

Gold: No cards accumulated during the season

Silver: No red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season

Bronze: No more than 10 cards accumulated during the season.
