Colorado College moves up NSCAA Rankings, Trinity Remains No. 3

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Trinity University Tigers held onto their No. 3 spot in the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Division III National Poll, while the Colorado College Tigers moved up two spots from No. 16 to No. 14. Complete Poll

Colorado College also moved up on the NSCAA West Regional rankings from the No. 3 spot to No. 2, while Trinity remains in No. 1. The two teams are also ranked on the D3Soccer.com polls. Trinity holds onto the No. 5 spot while Colorado College is ranked No. 22. Complete Poll

The two teams met for the first time this season on Sunday, as Trinity defeated Colorado College 1-0. TU knocked in the game-winning goal in the 57th minute as Kellen Reid picked up his first career points.

Trinity also defeated Centenary College this week, taking the Gents down 5-0 Friday evening. TU was able to hold Centenary to just two shots in the game, while marking 39 of their own. Johnny Lawson recorded a hat trick in the game, marking goals in the 58th, 62nd and 68th minutes. Victor Araujo and Ryan Lord scored the team's other goals.

Colorado College's other match was on the road against Southwestern University. CC defeated the Pirates 3-0 as Max Grossenbacher scored two goals in the game, while Caden Mackenzie added the team's third. Colorado College held a 16-4 shooting advantage in the game, while goalkeeper Theo Hooker marked his conference leading fifth shutout.

The two teams will waste no time meeting again as they face each other Sunday, October 12 in Colorado Springs.
