Trinity Women's Soccer Falls in Round of 16 to Thomas More College

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The third-ranked Trinity University women's soccer team fell to Thomas More College 1-0 Saturday in the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship tournament.

The Tigers managed to outshoot TMC 8-4, allowing just two shots in regulation and two more in the overtime period. The Saints pulled the upset by knocking in a goal in during the 108th minute of play.

The score came after the Saints took five consecutive corner kicks. The Tigers pressure remained strong, but after blocking a shot by TMC, Saints' defender Emily Sanker was able to put the rebound past TU goalkeeper Devan Osegueda for the golden goal.

Falcone recorded two shots on the day to lead the team, putting both on target, while six other players put up one shot.

Trinity finishes the season with a record of 22-1-1 after earning the team's 10th NCAA playoff berth in 11 season under Head Coach Lance Key.
