LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference named Bernice Leonard and Jimmy Keener the Golfers of the Week for tournaments through Tuesday, September 24.
MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

JIMMY KEENER OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for tournaments played through Tuesday, September 24.
Keener wins his second Golfer of the Week award this year as he claimed a share of his fourth individual title and his second straight for the 2014-15 season at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational with an overall score of 142 (-2) to earn a three-way tie.
Keener led the No. 3 Mountaineers to a second place finish behind nine-time NJCAA national champions Tyler JC. Keener was the first of four SU golfers to finish in the top 10.
Through the first day Keener shot a 72 through the first day, earning a sixth place spot, before carding a 70 over the final 18 holes, the second lowest score on the second day of competition, to move up to the top spot.
Keener and the Mountaineers will compete in one last tournament of the fall season as they head to Destin, Fla. for the Golfweek Fall Invitational October 12-14.
WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

BERNICE LEONARD OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Bellaire, Texas, was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the week for tournaments played through Tuesday, September 24.
Leonard competed in the Depauw Small College Classic, helping to lead the Pirates to an eighth place finish in the 16-team field and earning her second Golfer of the Week award this season.
Leonard carded back-to-back rounds of 81 for an overall mark of 162 giving her a 12th place finish to lead the Pirates. Leonard was just six strokes behind the tournament champion.
Leonard and the Pirates will compete next at the Golfweek Fall Invitational in Destin, Fla. held October 12-14.
