The Tigers got a terrific performance in releif from Teddy Turner, who pitched 4.2 innings, allowing no runs or hits and striking out four to finish the game off and earn the win. Taylor Henry took his second loss of the season in relief.

Trinity opened the scoring up in the first inning with a RBI single from Drew Butler. However, the Gents responded with a run in the bottom half of the first with a sac fly from Chris Zapata.

Centenary scored an unearned run in the third inning thanks to a Trinity error, but the Tigers exploded for three runs in the following inning, getting RBIs from Jose Santos, Nick Jewett, and Brody Fehmel.

The Gents responded again in the fifth innings with RBIs from Kody Carson and Christian Sebastien to tie things back up at four.

Trinity would rally in the sixth inning though, loading the bases with two outs and getting a huge two RBI single from Conner Moore to take a 6-4 lead.

It was all Turner needed from there, completely shutting down the Gents offense and forcing the second game of the series.

Santos was 3-for-4 in the game with a RBI and two runs scored while Moore finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Carter McEachern and Butler each had multiple hits for the Gents.

For Centenary, Chris Zapata went 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored while Michael Schimpf finished 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

The winner-take-all championship game starts at 3:30 p.m. with the champion earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Regionals in two weeks.
