TLU's Anderson Finishes 12th in 200 Meter at NCAA Championship

DELAWARE, Ohio – Texas Lutheran University senior Monique Anderson failed to advance to Saturday's national final in the women's 200-meter dash, finishing 12th nationally at the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Anderson, a two-time All-American in the outdoor 200, placed fourth in her heat and posted the 12th-fastest time of the preliminary round.

Anderson's time of 24.69 seconds was .13 of a second slower than the eighth-place qualifier. Annie Lynch of Williams crossed the line in 24.56 to claim the last spot for the championship final.
 
Libby Schubert of Wartburg collected the top preliminary time, coming in at 23.91. The three heat winners plus the next five top times advance to the national final.
 
Anderson has one more shot at the sixth All-America honor of her career. She races Friday in the 100-meter dash preliminary round. Anderson races in the 100 at 6:30 p.m. central Friday. Anderson is ranked 12th in the 100, with a wind-legal time of 12.06 seconds.
