Trinity 16th; Southwestern 17th in Latest Golf World/WGCA Polls

NORMAN, Okla. –- Trinity University fell a spot to 16th while Southwestern University made a huge jump, up seven spots to 17th, in the latest Golf World/WGCA Top 25.

Schreiner University also moved up and now sits right outside the Top 25 with the most received votes at 24.

Since the last released rankings, Trinity put together a great showing and shot a final-round 320 Sunday to finish seventh among 20 teams at the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational.

Trinity posted a three-round total of 973 at the par-72 Indian Mound Course event which featured some of the best NCAA Division III teams in the nation. The Tigers had been in eighth place for the first two rounds of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Southwestern also competed at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational and finished sixth overall, finishing the final two days with team scores 320 as they finished with a total score of 970.

Schreiner picked up a victory since the latest rankings, winning the UTD Lady Comet Invitational by an astonishing 70 strokes.
