Three SCAC Schools Recognized on CSCAA All-America Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Colorado College, Southwestern University, and Trinity University women's swimming and diving teams demonstrated their commitment to academic excellence by earning Team Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the 2014 spring semester.
 
Colorado College finished third among Division III squads with a 3.65 combined GPA. Olivia Dilorati led the squad, earning First Team Scholar All-American. Dilorati finished 16th in the 100-meter butterfly, earning All-American Honorable Mention honors.

Joining Dilorati on the first team is Katie Sheldon of Trinity. Sheldon also earned All-American honors after finishing eighth in the 1-meter dive. She was also named SCAC Diver of the Year. The Tigers, as a team, finished with a 3.39 GPA.

Southwestern finsihed with a 3.34 combined GPA.

Four SCAC student-athletes earned spots on the Scholar All-American Honorable Mention. Three came from Colorado College in Brenna Day, Megan Gillespie, and Erin Holmes while Trinity's Mollie Patzke also earned a spot on the team..

Colorado College is one of three Division III schools and one of only five overall in all three NCAA divisions to have both its men's and women's team earn a spot in the top six on their respective lists.
 
The award is presented twice annually to intercollegiate swimming and diving squads that achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
 
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
