Six SCAC Student-Athletes Named to NSCAA All-Scholar Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Four men's soccer student-athletes from Trinity University and two student-athletes from Colorado College were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American All-Scholar Region Teams on Monday evening.

From the South Region, seniors Ben Anderson and Darren McAfee along with junior Simon Uribe earned First Team honors for Trinity while senior Jeff Hayes was named to the Second Team. In the West Region, seniors Brandon Ogilvie and Sean Parham each landed First Team All-Region for Colorado College.

Anderson, a defender from Phoenix, Ariz., is majoring in Political Science and is carrying a GPA of 3.97. Anderson play in 20 games, earning the start in 11 and was apart of a defense that only allowed 10 goals all season long including 17 shutouts. He had one assist on the year.

McAfee, a midfielder from Albuquerque, N.M., majors in Engineering to go along with a GPA of 3.35. McAfee had five goals and two assists during the campaign and was named First Team All-SCAC as well as First Team All-West Region. He added a goal and an assist durng Trinity's run in the postseason and was a leader among the team all season long.

Uribe, a defender from Cali, Colombia, is a double major in Economics and Finance and is carrying an impressive 3.93 GPA. Uribe played in 21 games, getting the start in 12 and scored five goals on the season to go with one assist. His biggest goal came in the SCAC Championship Game against Southwestern where he scored the game winning goal and played great defense to lead the Tiger to their 16th SCAC Title.

Hayes, a defender from San Antonio, Texas, majors in Pre-Medicine Neuroscience and carries a 3.36 GPA. Hayes anchored a stiffling defense that was ranked No. 1 in the nation in goals-against average (.39). He played in 19 games in 2013, getting the start in 13 and scored five goals while gaining the assist on six.

Ogilvie, a forward from Manchester City, Vt., majors in Biochemistry and is carrying a GPA of 3.46. Ogilvie earned First Team All-SCAC and First Team All-West Region recognition after leading the SCAC in goals (14), points (25) and game-winning goals (7) during the regular season. He also tied for seventh with five assists. 

Parham, a forward from Fayetteville, Ark., also majors in Biochemistry and carries a GPA of 3.62. Parham earned Second Team All-SCAC and Third Team All-West Region for his efforts this year. He tied for third on the team with four assists, finished fourth with four goals and was fifth with 12 points.
