Trinity's Lanier Named NSCAA National Player-of-the-Week

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Senior forward Michelle Lanier of the Trinity University women's soccer team has been named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Player-of-the-Week for her tremendous performance this past weekend.

Lanier led Trinity to a pair of shutout wins in conference play over the weekend, picking up a total of nine points in the two games.

Lanier had a goal in the first game against Texas Lutheran, and then exploded for two goals and three assists in the win over Schreiner on Sunday. All of her production against Schreiner came in the first half of play - including the eventual game-winner. She scored or assisted on five of the team's seven goals in the first 45 mintues of play.

For the season, Lanier is second on the team with 15 total points, and is also second in both goals (5) and assists (5). Sunday marked her first game-winning goal of the season. The Tigers are now 7-0-1 on the season and are ranked No. 5 in the nation in latest NSCAA poll and No. 6 in the nation in the D3soccer.com poll.
