Davidson went 2-0 on the weekend for the 'Roos. On Saturday, she clinched the match for AC, winning a three-setter against Texas Lutheran's Serenity Cabrera 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-1. On Sunday, after helping secure the doubles point for the Roos, handled business at line 4 with a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Nataly Velasco of St. Thomas.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Ruth Hill of Trinity led the #13th-ranked women's tennis team to a pair of shutout victories over the weekend, defeating both McMurry and East Texas Baptist by 7-0 scores. Hill earned straight-set #1 singles wins in both matches on Sunday, beginning with a 6-0, 6-2 win over McMurry that clinched the shutout victory. She came back later in the day and won 6-1, 6-1 over ETBU, putting the Tigers in front 3-0 at the time. This season, Hill is 6-2 in singles play this season and has won four consecutive decisions. First-year Hannah Snyder of St. Thomas played a huge role in the 4-3 win against Austin College, securing a 6-0, 6-3 singles victory to clinch the victory, keeping the Celts undefeated at 2-0 in conference play. Junior Rebekah McQueen of Concordia (Texas) dominated in her line four matchup against Reese Stephens of McMurry, as the junior blanked her opponent by a score of 6-0, 6-0 in a 7-0 conference sweep by the Tornados.
