JESSICA HAYAKAWA OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a junior midfielder from Coppell, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, September 18th through Sunday, September 24th. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 4)
Hayakawa helped lift Austin College to back-to-back wins for the first time since 2019 last week with victories over non-conference foes Howard Payne and Randall. In the win over Randall, Hayakawa recorded her first career brace, including the game-winner in the 7-1 victory on Saturday. Her efforts have helped Austin College register 11 goals through just seven fixtures this season, the most through the opening seven contests since the 2013 season. The seven goals and six-goal margin of victory also marked program bests since the ‘Roos knocked off LeTourneau, 11-0, in the second match of the 2013 season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Meredith Lannan of Southwestern scored the game-winning goal in the Pirates 3-1 win over Concordia last Friday night. First-year midfielder Madison Barganski of Trinity scored her first career goal in the Tigers 2-2 draw against Concordia last week.
