LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – After a short hiatus, the #SCACTrending contest resumed Tuesday. The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs earned 555 points from Monday, October 6 through Sunday October 19 to defeat all other schools by just under 300 points.
The Bulldogs earned their fourth win of the year with the usage of the hashtag #TLUBulldogs. Most of their tweets and Instagram posts came during their homecoming win over East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, October 11.
The University of Dallas continued to move up the ranks, earning the second spot after jumping from No. 6 to No. 3 two weeks ago. The Crusaders earned 272 points. Austin College remained within the top three for the sixth week in a row with 256 points. Schreiner University also made a big jump from sixth place to fourth after earning 244 points, more than tripling their previous total of 68.
Just two points behind Schreiner is Colorado College who moved up to fifth after holding the last spot on the rankings for the past two weeks.
Points are tallied by hashtag usage on Twitter and Instagram, with one point awarded for every time the school's designated hashtag is used in a tweet and two points each time it is used in an Instagram picture.
Each week, the winning school will select one or more student-athletes to take over the SCAC Instagram account for the following weekend.
