SCAC Trending Competition Results (Week 11)

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs are on top of the #SCACTrending competition again, earning their sixth win in the competition since it began in September.

The Bulldogs earned the victory after topping the chart with 258 points, almost 100 more than the next teams. Trinity University jumped from sixth all the way up to a tie for second place with the University of Dallas Crusaders. The Crusaders finished second last week. The Trinity Tigers had three teams competing in NCAA postseason play this weekend that contributed to their success, as well as a dominating football victory in the last game of the season.

The Crusaders have remained near the top of the rankings for the past few weeks, but have not been able to get past the dominant Bulldogs.

Colorado College still had the third-most points this week, 116, but will place fourth because of the Dallas/Trinity tie. After a couple weeks near the bottom, Schreiner University jumped up to fifth earning 103 points. Centenary College ranked sixth this week, finishing with 88 points, while Austin College fell to seventh with 85 points and Southwestern University remained in eighth with 40.

The points are tallied based on the usage of school specific hashtags on Twitter and Instagram. Each time the hashtag is used on Twitter, an institution earns one point. For every usage of the hashtag on Instagram, two points will be accumulated.

This week, the SCAC Instagram takeover will be done by student-athletes from the three SCAC teams that will be competing in NCAA postseason play this weekend, Trinity University men’s (Callum Squires) and women’s soccer (Robin Lipinski) and Texas Lutheran football (Dustin Hannon, Dominick Stives).
