Isabella Vasquez, Colorado College, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 8)

ISABELLA VASQUEZ OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior outside hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11.

Vasquez posted back-to-back double-doubles as Colorado College completed its undefeated conference slate with a pair of sweeps at Centenary last week. She averaged 4.17 kills per set while hitting .327, and was second averaging 3.83 digs per set. During Friday's 25-22, 25-21, 25-19 win, the junior outside hitter produced a season-high 14 kills and added 12 digs. She also hit .387 with only two kills on 31 swings. In Saturday's 25-14, 25-19, 25-15 victory, Vasquez recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a team-high 11 kills and 11 digs.

Vasquez is tied for second on the team with 129 kills and is third averaging 2.87 kills per set. She also is third among the starters with career-high a .258 hitting percentage.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior right side Madison Weisinger of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 4-0 conference record last week as TLU secured the No. 6 seed for the upcoming SCAC Women's Volleyball Championship. Weisinger hit .330 for the week and had double-digit kill totals in all four matches. She had 13 in a five-set comeback win over Schreiner on April 6 and had 10, 11, and 10 in the other three matches. She hit .556 with 11 kills and one error in the first match versus Dallas. Weisinger tallied 44 total kills over four matches. She added five service aces (all in a row) in that first victory over Dallas. Sophomore middle blocker Riley Brantley of Southwestern scored 30.5 points for the Pirates in nine sets, putting down 25 kills, averaging 2.78 per set, on an efficient .392 hitting percentage. She was also a force around the net with two solo blocks and seven block assists. Junior right-side Alyssa Ajlouny of St. Thomas had 26 kills (2.89 per set) along with 39 digs and six blocks as the Celts split a pair of matches against Austin College. Sophomore outside hitter Kayla Lofland of Schreiner had 49 kills (2.88 per set) in four matches last week. She also added 43 digs and four blocks and averaged 3.1 points per set for the Mountaineers.
