GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Colorado College women's basketball junior Zoe Tomlinson capped off one of the best seasons in program history by being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-American Second Team.
The New York native became the third player in program history to be named an academic all-American, joining the likes of Melaine August (2009) and Deborah Nalty, a two-time recipient in 1982 and '84. Tomlinson carries a 3.94 as she pursues a major in Mathematical Economics.
Tomlinson is the first SCAC Women's Basketball player to earn Academic All-American honors since Texas Lutheran's Kristen Lye was honored following the end of the 2016-17 season.
Tomlinson capped her season by being named the only first player in program history to receive All-American honors from the WBCA (honorable mention) and D3Hoops (Third Team) in the same season. She was the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, after leading the conference in scoring with an average of 17.7 points per game, rebounds with 14 per game, and field goal percentage (.540). She is the third player in program history to win conference Player of the Year. Tomlinson was also named an All-SCAC First Team selection, becoming the fourth player in program history to earn a pair of first-team all-conference selections.
"An honor such as Academic All-American being added to Zoë's name speaks to the drive and excellence she brings to every area of her college career," head coach Katherine Auguste said. "Without question, everyone in our program is proud of all that she's accomplished on the court and equally proud of her earning this special recognition. Zoë has grown tremendously each year that she's represented Colorado College and our program, and I'm really excited to see what the future holds for her as she approaches this final year as a Tiger!"
Tomlinson is the 29th Tiger to be selected to an Academic All-American team and the third athlete this season to be selected.
